“Fantasy You”

Do you have a fantasy football team? Or, any fantasy sports team or know anyone who does? It’s pretty much a part-time job. You have to put so much time and energy into it. Fantasy sports are a ton of fun. They bring people together and make sports more interesting. So this post is in no way an anti-fantasy post, rather just offering a different perspective. Imagine putting as much time and energy into yourself as you do your fantasy team. In fantasy, you study for the draft, then it’s draft day, then the season starts. During the season every week you study which players have the best matchups, you have the waiver wire to worry about and you try and make trades to better your team. Then you watch the games and root for your players. These players we watch and cheer for are out there living their dreams and crushing their life goals and don’t give a shit about our fantasy teams. When our team wins we get excited like we accomplished something, like we were the person who caught the two touchdowns and got 100 yards. Also when our team loses it can ruin our day. I’ve been so guilty of this in the past or even if my favorite sports team lost a big game I’d be upset for a couple days. Once I left a super bowl party that I hosted because the patriots lost to the giants. I literally walked out and didn’t say anything and just left. I know, pretty dumb and dramatic. When the Bruins get knocked out of the playoffs I usually get multiple texts from people asking me if I’m ok. So in the past I’ve definitely attached too much of my identity to things I couldn’t actually control. It’s fine to root for your fantasy team and be a fan and have fun! However, we should also be rooting for ourselves and chasing our own dreams and working towards our own goals! You should work on fantasy you! What are your goals? What dream are you chasing? Let’s invest in ourselves! Like a first round fantasy draft pick, you should be your own number one pick in real life! What steps can you take this week to start getting closer to your goals? If you can spend hours each week for a fantasy team you should be able to find time to work on fantasy you! So still have fun and have your fantasy team but start rooting for yourself! Create some life momentum, celebrate your wins! Lets go! Have the best week ever!

Crush it!
